The Los Angeles Rams officially placed TE Cory Harkey on injured reserve and promoted CB Troy Hill from their practice squad in a corresponding roster move.
Harkey, 25, wound up signing on with the Rams as an undrafted free agent out of UCLA back in 2012. The team signed him to a one-year restricted offer last year and re-signed once again after reaching free agency.
In 2016, Harkey was active for 12 total games for Los Angeles but did not record a single statistic.
Hill, 25, originally signed on with the Bengals as an undrafted free agent out of Oregon back in May of last year. He was unable to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason but later signed on to their practice squad.
Hill had a brief stint with the Patriots last year before he was claimed off of waivers by the Rams. The Rams cut Hill loose just a few day after he was arrested for a DUI and inactive for the following game.
He’s currently in the second year of his three-year, $1.575 million contract and stands to make a base salary of $525,000 for the 2016 season.
This year, Hill has appeared in nine games for the Rams and recorded 38 tackles, no interceptions and two pass defenses.
